Biscoitos Cerveja; also known as Beer Biscuits require simple ingredients that you likely already have in your home and are a favorite in my family. I did not grow up eating these, but I wish I had! You may be wondering what beer would be best to use for these beer biscuits. I suggest and enjoy using pale lagers, such as Sagres or Super Boc (not sponsored!). These crunchy treats are coated in sugar which adds to their texture and enhances the delicious flavor of these biscuits.

Ingredients

Scale

1 3/4 cups of all purpose flour

9 tablespoons of softened, salted butter

1/3 cup of beer (preferably a light beer, like a pale lager)

Sugar for dipping. I use a mix of granulated sugar and brown sugar.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease baking sheet or line with parchment paper

In a large bowl, first add the flour.  Create a well in the center and add the softened butter and the beer.

Using your hands, knead together until the dough comes together and forms a ball and doesn’t stick to your hands.

Pull off small pieces of dough. Then begin rolling the dough in your hands to form a long rope, rolling and twisting them in to shape.

Next, roll them in a plate of sugar and place them onto a greased tray, baking for 30 minutes.

The perfect size will end up making about 24 per batch. Enjoy!!
