Azorean GreenBean’s March 2018 Newsletter

Hi everyone, and welcome to March!!

Thank you to everyone who’s signed up for this Newsletter.

Last month’s newsletter was such a huge hit!! Thank you all for the wonderful private messages you sent to me regarding the announcement of the PBS Cooking and Travel series called “Maria’s Portuguese Table”.

I felt all your love and best wishes surround me. Truly appreciated them all.

I also loved the words of encouragement and support to never give up on

what I am doing!!  Sending you all lots of love back…xoxoxo

Now last month I shared with you my family’s Malassadas Recipe… https://azoreangreenbean.com/2015/12/malassadas/

Well, so many of you tried making it for the first time for Carnival and had so much success with it… thanks for sending me pictures of your finished dish… truly so proud of you!!

This year I made more than my usual quantity of malassadas. I figured since my daughters where home that week that they and their friends would eat everything!! Boy was I wrong… It seems like everyone was on a diet and instead of eating a whole malassada; they were splitting them in half!!!  So for the very first time ever in my home I had leftover malassadas!!! 12 malassadas to be exact!! As you many know, Malassadas are to be eaten fresh, warm and on the same day… So the next day after making them they are harder and drier and not as tasting… So I was left with the dilemma of what to do with these leftover malassadas…. I decided I would make

Malassada Bread Pudding!!! I know that is sounds decadent but it was AMAZING!!!

It’s definitely something I will do again, if I have extras… or maybe I’ll be making extras just so I can use the leftovers!! Heheheheh!!

Our first day of spring is March 20th and I can’t wait for more warmth and sun.

If your like me and live in an area of cold winters, then your probably counting down the days till spring!!  I’m actually daydreaming of planting my vegetable and flower gardens… I can’t wait!!!

There are a few things I will be working on this month besides daydreaming… working on recipes for book two… I will be recording several more Podcasts with my friend and cohost, Angela Simoes.  It’s called Our Portuguese Table Podcast and you can hear us on Sound cloud and ITunes. Were also making it possible to hear it on our YouTube channel in the next few months. But in the meantime, you can follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/OurPortugueseTable/

As well as checking out our website www.OurPortuguesetable.com where you can see all the amazing Portuguese people we have interviewed.  Listen to our Podcasts and leave a comment and review.

We are also for the first time ever accepting advertisers for out Podcast…so if you would like to advertise…let Angela and I know.

Last but not least… let us know if there is a special person we should be interviewing.

Until next month, sending you all lots of love,

All the best,

Maria xoxox
