It is the dog days of summer, time to freeze some of the garden’s bounty!
This is the time of year that I always get a lot of questions about preserving the extra fresh vegetables for fruit that come out of the garden or your local farm. I am so lucky where I live, because the produce at our local farm stand is amazing. I try to get there right when they’re restocking to make sure I get the broccoli before it sells out! The farmer at my favorite stand has gotten to know me by now and we have some great conversations. This week I answer your questions about how I freeze and how I use my frozen fruits and vegetables so that I can enjoy a taste of summer’s best in the cold winter months.

Not sure how to use your frozen produce?
I love to use frozen fruits and vegetables in soups, sauces, and stews. Freezing fruit is a great way to guarantee you always have fresh ingredients in your baked goods! I sometimes use previously frozen blueberries in my Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake.
